Funny Idioms, Big Smiles! - Marco, Italy

Funny Idioms, Big Smiles! - Leonardo da Vinci, Italy

Our students had lots of fun exploring the world of idioms!

They started by researching some popular Italian expressions and then worked on translating them into English. Along the way, they discovered that idioms are not always easy to translate—and that their literal meanings can be really funny!

The activity led to many laughs as students shared expressions, guessed their meanings, and compared them with idioms from other countries. It was fascinating to see how different cultures use unique phrases to express similar ideas.

Students especially enjoyed reading the idioms created by their project partners and learning new expressions from around the world. It was a fun way to practice English, discover cultural differences, and realize that languages are full of surprises!

Learning has never been so much fun!
